For more than two decades we have shaped the ground around private homes in the Berkshires, the Hudson Valley, and beyond. Our work begins with how a property is read, how it is walked, how it ages. The result is a place that fits its setting and its people.<\/p>

Akroyd Design Group works across landscape architecture, land planning, development consulting, and owners representation. Most projects ask for two or three at once \u2014 we move between them without a hand-off.<\/p><\/div>

Materials & craft<\/span>

The work is in the details that nobody points out.<\/h2>

Stone is set, not laid. Edges are tucked. Where two materials meet, we draw the joint before the trades arrive.<\/p><\/div>

Most of our work asks the same questions. How does this drain? How does this read at dusk? How will this look after fifteen winters? We answer those questions in the drawings, and we stay on site to answer them again when the materials show up.<\/p>

We work with stone yards, nurseries, and trades who care about how the pieces meet. When the right partner isn't local, we bring them in. The result is a property that looks settled the day it's finished and only improves with weather and use.<\/p>

We are not the firm that hands you a binder and disappears. We stay through the season the trees are planted, and through the season after that.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/section>
